The Pomerape volcano, an immediate neighbor of the Parinacota volcano, is a beautiful mountain nestled in the Chilean-Bolivian "altiplano". When it is literally next to the Parinacota, it loses in interest to be climbed, because all the glances usually turn towards the Parinacota, main height of the zone - deconcenting to the Bolivian Sajama -, but it´s still a very interesting and beautiful mountain ñ
The climbing route, due to its north slope, does not offer difficult steps, being able to advance step by step by gentle slopes that begin to gain in slope as one ascends. Its summit, a crown of ice and snow, is a wide esplanade that allows to appreciate the imposing surrounding peaks, in addition to the lagoons and desert grass-water of a unique environment.
