LLULLAILLACO VOLCANO EXPEDITION - 6,739 M / 22,100 FT, CHILE

The third highest mountain in Chile. The climb of this volcano is very special, because it is a sacred mountain and one of the main sanctuaries of the Inca culture. Near the summit, about 6700 m, three mummified bodies were found left there in honor of the gods, graduating as well as the highest sanctuary in the world.

A long approach path from any town and between a maze of footprints, makes reaching the base camp of the mountain an adventure in itself, accompanied by amazing landscapes .

The climb of the mountain is technically easy, through little defined paths and some sections on snowfields. Low temperatures, the altitude and long days inhig altutude, typical of any ascent to a 6 thousand meters peak, are the elements that make this mountain a hard test to overcome, but beyond the summit, it constitutes a strong and interesting personal challenge
